Security
- Cash – Never carry large amounts of cash; use online tools such as PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, and other such applications to transact. Avoid checks of all types – personal, cashiers, or money orders.
- Meeting– Always meet during the day and when possible meet in public places to complete your transactions. If you have to go to someone’s place try to bring a companion with you. The same applies if and when someone is coming to your house, try and have a friend/ companion with you.
- Buddy System – If you have to go to someone’s place to complete the transaction always notify a friend or family member with where you are going and also let them know when you return safely. The same should also apply if someone is coming to your house.
- Instincts – Always be extra careful and trust your instincts; if something doesn’t feel right it probably isn’t. Take extra measures to protect yourself and your surroundings.
- Common Sense – No set of rules are ever all inclusive; make sure to use caution in every transaction that you engage in.
